Troop 35 meets year-round every Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. When school is open, we meet at Pattie Elementary School at 16125 Dumfries Road in Dumfries, Virginia. During summer, holidays, camp packouts, and on the third Wednesday of each month, we meet at American Legion Post 28 at 17934 Liming Road in Triangle, Virginia.
Meetings start with a gathering activity. Scouts are expected to be on time for the opening flag ceremony, which typically occurs about 7:15 p.m. The troop program determines the activities of most meetings. If a Scout participates in the meetings by listening, learning, and practicing various skills, he will likely complete many of requirements of rank advancement.
Scouts are in charge, so at times, meetings may appear to be chaotic and leaderless. This is necessary to allow the Scouts to develop leadership and interpersonal skills. They learn by doing.
Parents are welcome to come to meetings and stay to observe. However, you may also choose to just drop your son off and return later for pick up.
